These are free DOCX files for import into Google Docs. You create and control the copy in your own Drive. The download is not a pre-hosted Google “make a copy” link, and the Word document requires manual amount checks.
Upload and open the file
- Download the estimate or quote DOCX above.
- In Google Drive, use New → File upload and choose the downloaded file.
- Open the uploaded document with Google Docs.
- If you want a native Google document, use File → Save as Google Docs. Opening an Office file for editing is different from converting it.
Google explains importing an existing document and editing or converting Office files in its official help. A Google account is needed for your Drive copy; the files on this page can be downloaded without a Pocket Invoice account.
Replace the details and the business conditions
Enter your business and customer, document number, date, validity and project reference. Replace the example work and prices, then review the scope, exclusions, proposed timing and payment terms. Do not keep sample deposit terms just because they are in the file.
An estimate should state which measurements or conditions remain uncertain. A quote should make the proposed scope and price clear. The quote and estimate guide explains the practical distinction.
Calculate each line as quantity × unit price. Check subtotal, discount, applicable tax and deposit separately. Changing a number in the Word table does not provide spreadsheet calculation.
Check the copy before exporting PDF
Review table widths, page breaks, currency and totals after importing. Use File → Download → PDF Document, open the exported file and check the complete document before sharing it. Keep the editable copy and the version accepted by the customer.
For a hypothetical tax-free scope of 3 hours at $80 plus $40 of materials, the subtotal is $280. A $20 discount leaves $260; a $100 deposit leaves $160. Use the actual applicable tax method for your transaction.
Choose Docs for writing, Sheets for formulas
Docs suits a document where scope and terms need editing. Sheets estimate and quote templates are better suited to quantity and rate calculations, provided you check the imported formulas and tax method.
